The Classics Club has spoken: the spin number is 17. That means that by October 6, I will read James Stephens’ The Charwoman’s Daughter. I know next to nothing about the author or the work; according to Goodreads, Stephens was an Irish poet and novelist, and the story takes place in a poor Dublin neighborhood at the beginning of the 20th century.
I found the title listed on qwiklit.com’s “20 Classics You Have Never Heard Of,” so I don’t feel quite so bad about being unfamiliar with it. At only 124 pages, it should be no problem to read it by October.
Are you happy with your spin result?
